The president of Russia supports short-term visa-free entry to the country
The president of Russia Vladimir Putin supported the proposal to apply the experience of short-term visa-free entry to various regions of the country. He announced this at "Business Russia" forum.
In addition, the head of country spoke in favor of increasing the use of electronic visas. Vladimir Putin highlighted that although he supports such ideas but the position of law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must be taken into consideration too.
"We should honestly confess that their position is often justified, but we still have to move forward. We will not solve our development tasks either in tourism or other areas with the help of prohibitions,” the president explained.
In August 2018, Vladimir Putin signed the law that allowed Fan ID holders to enjoy visa-free entry to the country until December 31, 2018.
