The number of mobile subscribers in Ukraine is a third more than the entire adult active population of the country
The State Statistics Service has published data on the number of mobile subscribers in Ukraine. It is reported that this number is a third more than the entire adult active population of the country.
Over the past year, the population of Ukraine accounted for is 44.83 million people. This figure includes the elderly, babies, and the residents of the annexed Crimea. In 2013, the population accounted 45.426 million people.
At the same time, the State Statistics Service reports that there are about 54.7 million mobile subscribers. This figure is almost ten million more than the country’s population.
The main reason is that most mobile operators offer free communication within their network. As a rule, users have several sim-cards from different operators.
Earlier it was reported that for the first time in history, most of the inhabitants of the Earth got majority of the world’s population have access to the Internet.
It was also reported that the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine started a case against such mobile operators as Kievstar, Vodafone Ukraine and Lifecell as they established a four-week billing period.
