The Federal Customs Service of Russia recalls that the rates of importing duty-free goods for personal use into Russia will significantly drop from January 1, 2019. According to the information posted on the website of the Federal Customs Service, the restriction for individuals to import goods to the EAEU countries for personal use by land and water transport will be the equivalent of 500 euros and (or) the weight of 25 kg.
This decision was adopted by the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission on November 1, 2018. The official document is called "On Amendments to of the Decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission of December 20, 2017 No. 107”.
New rules for importing duty-free goods for personal use relate to the modes of transportation which are land and water transportations that include road, rail, maritime and as well as on foot. At the same time, the rates will remain the same for the goods transported by air amounting up to 10,000 euros and up to 50 kg.
In case of exceeding the established values, you will need to pay a fee in the amount of 30% of the value of the goods, but not less than 4 euros per kilogram of weight in terms of exceeding the value and / or weight norm.
